I did my new 2-mile run test on the weekend, and this time in 13:28. Not yet under 13 minutes but a lot better than over 14.
Actually the run didn’t feel any good at all, so I am planning to keep running shoes in the closet for a couple days. Bicycle will be getting more attention this week ![]()
Well, knowing myself I am sure that I will pick up Asics again later this week and hit the road.

It has been quite a while since I last time wrote something else than just posted test results…
Well, this is a test result too. Sort of. But a real life test.
I did a 2-mile run a couple of weeks ago, a while after the bike accident, and the result was devastating.
Me, who has run 2 miles in less than 13 minutes, screwed up so badly that two miles took forever – over 14 minutes, actually 14:02.
My ribs didn’t forgive the sudden exercise, and I spent the afternoon after the run suffering painful spasms in my side. In any case I will have another chance to do a 2-mile test next weekend, I guess I am up to the challenge. The goal is to make it under 14 minutes, after that in less than 13:30 and eventually trying to get back to a 12-minute girl. In this case even 12:59 is counted
Apparently frustration is the first step towards improvement, as John Bingham has said:
Frustration is the first step towards improvement. I have no incentive to improve if I’m content with what I can do and if I’m completely satisfied with my pace, distance and form as a runner. It’s only when I face frustration and use it to fuel my dedication that I feel myself moving forwards.
